Holocaust Memorial Day (Yom HaShoah) | 2025
Ben Smith writes that it's more important than ever for non-Jews to show solidarity on Yom HaShoah—Israel's day of remembrance for the 6 million Jews murdered in the Holocaust. Our Fight is sending a delegation to Israel for the official ceremony, and joining the London commemoration.

Wednesday, 23rd April to Thursday, 24th April (from sunset to sunset).
Every year since 1949, Israel has set aside a day to remember the six million Jews who were murdered by the Nazi regime during the Holocaust—Yom HaShoah, or Holocaust Martyrs' and Heroes' Remembrance Day.
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz and the end of World War II, and Our Fight is determined to keep highlighting the unique horror of the Holocaust and the dangers of the resurgence of anti-Semitism.
During January's Holocaust Memorial Day we displayed the Yad Vashem exhibition The Auschwitz Album in Parliament Square, in February we held a hugely successful symposium in North London— Remaking the Promise of Never Again—and in April we will be taking a delegation to Israel to show our solidarity with the Israeli people during Yom HaShoah. (Video and information about all of these activities is at the end of this article.)
Some of our delegation are privileged enough to have been invited to the official Yom HaShoah commemoration at the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem, where Israel’s President and Prime Minister will speak, the Chief Rabbis will recite prayers and Holocaust survivors will light six torches; one for every million who were killed.

Jewish communities outside of Israel will also be holding commemorations, and this year, more than ever, it is important for non-Jews to join them. The London commemoration takes place on the evening of April 23rd, in Victoria Tower Gardens, next to the House of Lords. This promises to be an incredibly moving event. Please show your solidarity by going along to the commemoration and joining with Our Fight to remember the Holocaust as a significant warning against unchallenged anti-Semitism.
Tickets are free but are essential for entry. They are available at the link below.
